Rock Over Europe

Hello everybody, hi all! This is Karel and radio Manzerock is on the air! :-)

It's been a long time since I posted here, and I've been neglecting you all recently.

I have a lots of things to do besides music, but I have found the time to post something on the blog.

Since rock'n'roll received a great recognition in the 1950s Europe, I decided to choose some songs and instrumentals with a rockin' flavour. Some of the songs were already aired in "Music for Sunday Date", but most of them not.

Dutch singer Diny Snyders recorded "Wie, Wie, Wie" in 1959 with studio musicians, who modestly called themselves "Rocking Stars". The line up including Eddy Christiani on guitar.

Another dutch band Kilima Hawaiians formed in the 1930s and was active for a long period. This track is a nice cover-version of "Hawaiian War Chant", the tune that was originally wrote by the future King of Hawaii Island and a bit later adopted to orchetsra by Johnny Noble. Don't know the exact date, maybe late 1960s, with Theo Ehrlicher exellent steel guitar playing.

Henry Cording, Van Wood, Brita Borg, Odd Gisløy and Magali Noël - all of them are here and many more.

Have a nice trip!
